Equipment Service Rental
In MNSERG, we provide high end instrument services to support your research. We committed to provide the highest quality in laboratory testings and measurements that conform to customers and regulatory requirements. All results will be transferred to the Fund Consultative Working Laboratory, Laboratory Equipment Usage Charge and sample.
Instruments Service Policy
Users of the MNSE's equipment are required to comply with the following rules:
A. Booking and training
Intended users are required to fill in a Booking Form which can be obtained at our officer (MUHAMMAD ASRAF BIN MANSOR / 019 7950464) or downloaded from the MNSERG web site
Bookings for the use of instruments must be made at least two (2) weeks before the intended date of usage.
Any cancellation must be made within one (1) day before the date of usage with the science officer in charge. Failure to do so will be blacklisted.
The MNSERG management has the right to determine the schedule of the instrument usage based on the samples and instrument requirement.
Each user is required to undergo the training for the handling / operation of the Instrument from the appointed Instrument Officer before can be allowed to use the instrument. This authorization can only be obtained and confirmed by the relevant instruments Officer.
All undergraduate students are not allowed to operate any of the high end category instruments available in the Mikro Nano Lab.
The users must provide the prove of payment process for the previous month’s analysis before being allowed for the subsequent booking.
B. Usage Charge
The use of instrument will be charged minimum for the purpose of maintenance and purchasing of replacement parts. Charges for the use of the instrument will be based on charge per sample or per-day depending on the type of instrument.
Users are responsible for the damage caused by his/her own negligence and will be charged for the cost of repairing of the damage.
C. Instruments Usage Procedures
Users must provide their own samples requirements for the characterization, such as solvents, sample tubes and other consumables. Users are advised to discuss with the lab officer responsible for the requirements of the sample preparation.
Users MUST fill in the log book provided for each instrument.
Any damage or malfunction of the instrument must be recorded and reported immediately to the laboratory assistant or lab officer responsible.
Users are required to read, understand and comply with all procedures for the use of instruments.
Each instrument and equipment should be left in a state of a clean and tidy after use. All samples must be taken out of the instrument room. MNSERG has the right to remove any sample that was left behind.
MNSERG has the right to prohibit any use of the instrument if the instrument rules are violated or any sign of abused in the use of instruments.
Users must comply with the Occupational Safety, Health and Environmental Policy and other regulations set by the MNSERG management.
High-end instruments are only allowed for postgraduate students. He/she must received training and authorizationfrom the laboratory management.
No instrument should be removed from its location without prior concern of its instrument officer.
D. Copying of Data
Data can be copied onto a CD only. Use of any kind of portable-drive is absolutely prohibited to prevent computer virus infections.
Please ask for assistance from a lab assistant or scientific officer responsible for a copy of the data.
E. Schedule of Usage
Schedule of usage is determined by the instrument management committee based on the sample’s and instrument requirement.
Students from the same supervisor / co-supervisors are not allowed to dominate the use of an instrument in subsequent period of time. This is to allow other users to be given equal opportunity of using the instrument.
The maximum number of samples allowed for analysis in an application must be followed.
Any cancellation of schedule must be made within one (1) day before the date of the use by contacting the science officer responsible. Failure to do so will be blacklisted.
The replacement for the cancelled schedule is under the authority of MNSERG instrument officer.
